Today’s guest on Off Menu is Guelph, Ontario cookbook author, professional home economist and food network pioneer, Emily Richards. Emily was in town to promote her new cookbook, Per La Famiglia and was kind enough to sit down with me before heading to Jasper Park Lodge for Christmas in November.
Show Notes:
The wine Emily and I enjoyed was provided by wine provided by Gurvinder Bhatia, Quench wine editor, Edmonton Journal & Global TV wine columnist and owner of Vinomania, locally owned and operated for 20 years and named one of Canada’s 20 best wine stores.
Gurvinder selected a Bartier Bros Gewurztraminer from Okanagan, BC
It has a bright, crisp, fresh and vibrant aromas and flavours of apricot, peach, citrus peel, apple and spice. Slightly off-dry but balanced with just the right amount of acidity and a slight spritzy feeling in the mouth. Mike Bartier is one of the best winemakers in BC and one of the few Okanagan born winemakers in BC. He knows the valley and it’s vineyards and microclimates like the back of his hand.
