A new summer requires a new summer drink. This year, mine is going to be this delicious Bourbon Mint Lemonade.
It’s easy to make, and doesn’t require a lot of fancy equipment or craft-cocktail know-how, so it’s right up my alley! Especially since my expertise when it comes to drinks is mainly focused on drinking them, rather than making them.
Robyn and I have been enjoying quite a few of these out on the deck when the weather in dear, old Edmonton decides to co-operate (which ain’t often enough for my liking) and I’m sure there’s going to be plenty more to come.
I experimented with straight up Bourbon in Lemonade like a lot of recipes call for, but I figured I could improve on it. I switched out half the bourbon for limoncello, added some muddled fresh mint, and voila!
Just don’t blame me when you get fired for calling in sick every sunny day to drink these on your own deck.
Bourbon Mint Lemonade
1/2 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Limoncello
8 0z (1 cup) Lemonade
4-5 fresh mint leaves
Muddle mint leaves with a couple cubes of ice to release their flavour
Mix remaining ingredients and stir.
Simple, right?
Enjoy!

Bourbon! This looks delicious. I still need to get the bourbon cocktail recipe from you from Hot Chefs, Cool Beats.
